Libby Audiobook: American Psycho

I had heard about the book and movie, but had absolutely no idea what it was about and what to expect.

The first part of the book was just marvellous, dark humour. And I thought to myself, this isn't too bad, I can cope with this.

Then all of a sudden, bam! it takes a turn and becomes wildly disturbing. The author vividly describes the most aweful torture scenes. It is written incredibly well, but definitely not a book I would recommend.

I had to skip through some of the scenes that just got too much. Unfortunately you can't unread any if it.

It's written in the first person which I normally don't like, but for this book it works.

I had to finish it to find out what happens. Which, to be honest, I had to Google to make sense of the end.

4/5
