Libby: Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, Dr Joe Dispenza

This was a rush read for me via Libby. I had already renewed it once and could not renew it again because someone else was waiting for it.

I totally get that the first part is necessary to explain the science, but it really dragged a bit.

I was very  keen to get to part 3, but the last day of reading has caught up with me :/ I did find the meditations on YouTube so will be following that for the next couple of weeks.

My preference is Deepak Chopra literature and also found a lot of value in John Kehoe's Mind Power. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill also fits in here for me.

Kindle Audiobook: When You Disappeared, John Marrs

s The Wronged Sons).

Am a big fan of his books, so have decided to start reading all his books in order.

Catherine is married to Simon. One day Simon packs up his stuff and disappears. We hear both his and her side and what they have dealt with over the years.

This was a good old thriller with great, big,  gasps-out-loud twists.

Kindle Audiobook: Pretty Baby, Mary Kubica

Thrilling! Enthralled from the beginning.
We meet Heidi, very charitable, helps refugees with their English. She is married to Chris, a finance guy, and they have a 12 year old, Zoe who I am pretty sure has an eating disorder.

Heidi keeps spotting a homeless girl with a baby and eventually invites her to their home. She is Willow, and the baby, Ruby.

Heidi totally zooms in on Ruby, she wanted lots of children, but unfortunately due to cancer lost their second child and any future opportunities to have children.

We also learn about Willow's sad upbringing, losing her parents in a car crash and being taken in by an uncle that abuses her.

What threw me a bit was that right at the end was a totally different character introduced to us, which made absolutely no sense. Turns out it is the beginning of the next book she wrote.

Libby: Kroes, Pat Stamatélos

Ai, so hartseer.
Hartseer hoe mense met verskillende velkleure behandel is. Hartseer met haar verhouding met Laki, die Griekse man. Die kompleksiteite om met hom te trou en wat dit sou beteken vir die verhouding met haar familie.

Baie baie goed.

Kindle audiobook: Surely Almost Dead, Amina Akhtar

Actually quite enjoyed this book. Binge listened to it.

It's interesting how the book/narration is interspersed with a podcast following the story/disappearance/murder(?) Of Dunia.
Very much a 'Serial' podcast vibe.

Very good narration.

Interesting folklore about jinns.
